MASA understands the critical importance of rapid response during emergencies. In times like these, access to medical services can mean the difference between life and death, particularly when roads are flooded, infrastructure is damaged, and medical facilities are stretched beyond capacity. Our mission is to protect people with compassion when facing life’s biggest emergencies, and we remain committed to supporting those affected by this catastrophic event
Supporting frontline heroes
To further our commitment, MASA is donating to two medical organizations actively involved in disaster relief and emergency response:
- North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA): The NCNA represents thousands of nurses many of whom are on the frontlines of disaster relief in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Nurses are often the first healthcare professionals to provide immediate care during crises, on the ground or providing critical care to patients in transport. We are grateful for their incredible dedication and service during these challenging times.
- NAEMT Foundation: The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) Foundation supports emergency medical professionals across the country. In situations like Hurricane Helene, EMTs are crucial in ensuring that individuals receive timely medical attention and transportation. The NAEMT Foundation helps ensure that emergency medical services (EMS) personnel have the resources they need to provide life-saving care.
- Florida Emergency Medicine Foundation (FEMF): FEMF prepares Florida and the nation for emergencies and disasters by educating and training emergency care providers. The foundation serves the entire spectrum of emergency care professionals, ranging from EMTs and paramedics to nurses, advanced practice providers, and physicians. FEMF proudly provides lifesaving education for lifesavers.
Moving forward together
At MASA, we believe that no one should have to worry about unexpected bills during or after an emergency, and we are here to ensure that our members have greater peace of mind when accessing the emergency care they need. We are honored to support the healthcare workers and emergency responders who continue to make a difference during the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
