Pet Return Transport Protection
For many of us, pets are cherished members of our family. But what happens to your faithful companion if you experience a medical emergency that requires air or ground ambulance transport? Pet Return Transport Protection provides a solution, ensuring your pet’s safe return home during a crisis. It’s one of the many valuable benefits offered with certain MASA plans.
What is Pet Return Transport Protection?
Pet Return Transport Protection supports expenses associated with returning your unattended pet to your home if you unexpectedly require emergency air or ground ambulance transportation, transportation between hospitals, repatriation (the process of returning you to your home country or region) to a hospital near your home, or transportation home from the hospital.
This protection applies to a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, and other small animals, with a limit of two pets per MASA member.
Why do I need Pet Return Transport Protection?
In a medical emergency, your primary focus should be on your own health and well-being. However, the thought of your pet being left alone or in unfamiliar hands can understandably add stress. With Pet Return Transport Protection, you can rest easy knowing that your furry friend will be cared for and returned home safely.
MASA will provide payment for the eligible expenses for your pet’s return transportation, using a common carrier when appropriate and subject to their rules and regulations. This membership benefit may pay for your pet’s airfare on a commercial flight, for instance. By ensuring your pet’s safety and return home, you can focus on your own medical needs.
Pet Return Transport Protection in action
Imagine you’re out with your dog when you experience a heart attack that requires immediate ambulance transport to a hospital.
A pet transport service collects your dog and ensures they are comfortable and secure during the journey home. Your pet is transported to your residence, where a designated caregiver, such as a friend, family member, or pet sitter, can take over their care until you can return home. With Pet Return Transport Protection, your eligible expenses are reimbursed by MASA.
