Worldwide Emergency Ground Ambulance Transport Protection

A serious medical emergency while abroad can quickly become overwhelming. How are you going to get the care you need, and how are you going to pay for it? The good news is that if you require emergency ground ambulance transportation outside the United States, MASA’s Worldwide Emergency Ground Ambulance Transport Protection helps reimburse eligible out-of-pocket expenses related to that transport.

What is Worldwide Emergency Ground Ambulance Transport Protection?

If a serious emergency outside the United States requires emergency ground ambulance transportation, MASA may reimburse up to $1,500 in eligible out-of-pocket expenses.

This protection helps cover emergency ground ambulance transportation to the nearest and most appropriate medical facility capable of providing the level of care you need. It may also help cover transportation to a suitable airport if emergency air ambulance transportation becomes necessary as part of your medical emergency.

To receive reimbursement, members must provide documentation from the ambulance provider along with proof of payment for the transportation expenses incurred. Coverage is limited to the amount paid by the member, up to $1,500 per consecutive 12-month period beginning from the plan’s effective date. Coverage is available while outside the United States, subject to prior trip notice requirements and destination-based exclusions.
